Roblox Hack Week 2022: Reunion

Six months ago, four senior engineers embarked on an innovative journey during Roblox's internal hackathon, Roblox Hack Week. Now, we're bringing them back together to reflect on their experiences and the evolution of their projects.

This reunion special celebrates the creativity, innovation, and lasting impact of Roblox Hack Week, providing a unique insight into the minds and processes of our senior engineers. It showcases not only their experiences but also the lifecycle of an idea within Roblox, from conception to potential implementation.

As an intern, I had the incredible opportunity to lead the content strategy for this reunion special. I collaborated with cross-functional partners, crafted engaging narratives, and oversaw production design and logistics. From initial briefs to scripting, I ensured a seamless process, resulting in a captivating video that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the hackathon projects and the engineers' journeys.

The Roblox Intern Experience

The Intern Experience is a docu-series that offers an insider's look at the company's innovative culture and approach to continuous learning in the field of software engineering. The series showcases the experiences of interns as they work alongside their team to tackle complex technical challenges.

As an intern on the corporate marketing team, my role entailed:

• Supporting the filming process by coordinating over 10 production shoots and ensuring the involvement of C-suite members, including the CEO.

• Working closely with interns, guiding them through self-filming processes, and offering logistical support.

• Collaborating on shaping the narrative arc of the series to ensure it effectively promotes the company's culture and values.

• Developing a go-to-market (GTM) strategy: this entails planning the distribution of the content across digital platforms and physical campuses to maximize engagement and reach the target audience.

The goal of this docu-series is to showcase Roblox's unique work environment, emphasizing its commitment to fostering talent and encouraging continuous learning, while also highlighting the exciting opportunities and challenges faced by software engineers in the industry.
